Rock salt (sodium chloride) is the most natural option. Chemical de-icers like calcium chloride work at lower temperatures but can be harmful to pets, plants, and concrete. Our rock salt is effective down to about 15°F (-9°C) and leaves no toxic residue.

Sasquatch Rock Salt is generally safe for cured concrete. However, the freeze-thaw cycle (not the salt itself) can cause damage to poor quality or uncured concrete. We recommend sealing your concrete and avoiding use on concrete less than 1 year old.
