Is Sasquatch Rock Salt safe for pets?

Yes! Sasquatch Rock Salt is 100% natural sodium chloride with no chemical additives. While we always recommend rinsing your pet's paws after walks, our salt is far safer than chemical de-icers.

How does rock salt compare to calcium chloride?

Rock salt (sodium chloride) is the most natural option. Chemical de-icers like calcium chloride work at lower temperatures but can be harmful to pets, plants, and concrete. Our rock salt is effective down to about 15°F (-9°C) and leaves no toxic residue.

Will it damage my concrete or driveway?

Sasquatch Rock Salt is generally safe for cured concrete. We recommend sealing your concrete and avoiding use on concrete less than 1 year old.

How much should I apply?

A little goes a long way! We recommend applying about 1/2 to 1 cup per square yard. Over-application isn't necessary and can be wasteful.
